THEORY OF ONTOLOGICAL CONSCIOUSNESS

"Consciousness is the source. Matter is the echo."

Sophie Hartman

Sophie Hartman

Physicist at CERN

Sophie Hartman (b. 1989) is a German theoretical physicist specializing in field theory and symmetry-breaking phenomena. She completed her doctorate at the University of Munich, focusing on the geometry of phase transitions in quantum systems. After working at the Max Planck Institute, she joined James Clark's team at CERN's Ion Laboratory, where she led a landmark experiment involving two topological conductors exposed to femtosecond laser pulses. The experiment revealed striking differences in system behavior depending on the presence or absence of an observer, challenging classical assumptions about measurement and objectivity. Hartman's work plays a central role in the development of the Hypothesis of Ontological Consciousness.

Adrian Pitou

Adrian Pitou

Theoretical Physicist

Adrian Poitou (b. 1995) is a French theoretical physicist and a doctoral graduate of the Sorbonne, known for his deep fascination with Gödel's incompleteness theorems and their implications for physics. At 29, he is the youngest member of James Clark's team at CERN's Ion Laboratory. Poitou led the AI-integrated segment of the Ontological Consciousness Hypothesis experiments, working with AlphaGeometry and CERNAI-3 systems. His most striking contribution was the pulsed irradiation of calcium ions using Fibonacci-coded sequences, which — under observation by the AI — produced an emergent response converging on the number π. His findings opened a new path toward identifying proto-conscious behavior within complex physical systems.

James Clark

James Clark

Senior Researcher

James Clark (b. 1964) is a British theoretical physicist and philosopher of science, holding a doctorate from the University of Oxford, where he studied under Roger Penrose. In the 1990s, he collaborated with Stephen Hawking on projects related to black holes and the structure of spacetime. For over two decades, he has been affiliated with CERN, serving the past eight years as head of the Ion Laboratory. He is the author of numerous scientific publications and is known for bridging quantum geometry with information theory. Clark is the originator of the Hypothesis of Ontological Consciousness, which redefines the role of the observer in the fabric of reality.
